Wood Industries
The name Wood Industries,s has been associated with timber processing for over 50 years.
Commencing business in 1965, Wood Industries owned and operated a sawmill and wood dowell manufacturing facility in Beenleigh, Queensland, Australia.

During the 1970s sawmilling continued in Maryborough Qld, wher focus changed to milling and processing of Queensland Hoop Pine plantation timber. These plantations becoming available for harvest due to the forethought of the Queensland Forest Service, in planting and managing this unique Australian species, some 40 years prior to final harvest. It is this Hoop Pine that gives character to the Wooden serving trays.

From small beginnings as a Queensland based sawmill 60 years ago, Wood Industries commenced processing Australian plantation grown timber in the 70's and this long association with local grown plantation pine processing , supporting employment of Australians in regional areas, has developed into local manufacture of finger jointed and laminated products. Our carefully designed crafted wooden tables are the result of a process that respects the sustainability of the environment as much as it relies on the skills of our craftsmen.

All of our tables are scrupulously produced from recovered, but high-grade plantation pine, effectively utilizing pieces of lumber that might otherwise have gone to waste. And we are pleased to say that pine we utilize is largely sourced from sustainable pine plantations in Australia, and production facilities placed in and supporting regional areas.

Sourcing our timber this way is in sharp contrast with timber culled from native forests, which may have detrimental affect on native fauna and waterways. Furthermore, our commitment to the sustainability and protection of our environment extends to the recycling of our wood shavings and dust, which is processed further into garden mulch, pine board and spill control to name a few.

As a carefully managed natural and renewable resource, pine lends itself ideally to the production of many food serving accessories and in particular, our large and small serving boards. Its relative strength, lightness and the ease with which it can be worked - and above all the natural beauty of this wood are reflected in the design of our attractive range of products.
These come in three different convenient sized serving trays, which come either with or without handles where they may be used in a traditional manner conveying dished either cold or hot safely to the table or serving area. With attractive handles they can also be used as platter boards for presenting cold foods - the hygienic and easy to clean nature of the oiled surface of our trays makes them ideal for this.
In addition to and following in the same style as these trays, we also present our wooden wine glass serving tray. With hand crafted recesses for up to 8 standard wine glasses, another for a wine cooler bucket and with unobtrusive but practical folding legs, serving wine and drinks to your guests or customers will have never been easier.
To complete the collection, we have our slimline folding pine desk, which can be opened out or put away in under 20 seconds. Again, produced from laminated pine, but in this instance finished with a clear lacquer to help preserve the surface of the wood, and with no screws or other fiddly parts to negotiate, this folding wooden desk will be perfect for those occasions when time and space are at a premium.
